I am passionate about the benefits of Baby Massage, not just for babies, but for parents too. I offer 1:1 classes and group classes, and can also facilitate classes for NCT or Antenatal Groups if you would like to learn together.
It can be very stressful to manage difficult behaviour, and this often has an impact on other relationships within the family. I have over 10 years experience of helping families to overcome behavioural problems. I could help you too.
Sleep problems are very common in young children. I have advanced training in management of sleep. I only advocate gentle techniques, and treat all families as individuals. We all need our sleep. Let me help you to get yours!
Breastfeeding is one of the most challenging things I have ever done in my life! It is very common for women to have difficulties in the early weeks. I have enhanced training in breastfeeding, and can help to ensure your breastfeeding journey is a positive one.
Everybody likes to be prepared! I offer classes to help with the practical side of becoming parents for the first time, as well as help with what to expect with breastfeeding.
Potty training and moving on to solid foods are new things for your children to learn, and can sometimes result in challenging behaviour. I have lots of tips and tricks up my sleeve to help you.
I qualified as a CIMI -Certified Infant Massage Instructor in 2014 with the IAIM – International Association of Infant Massage.
Since then I have been teaching groups of people, as well as providing 1:1 sessions, both in client’s homes and in external venues.
The massage course is run over 5 weeks. During this time you will learn how to give your baby a full body massage, as well as techniques to help ease common infant conditions such as Colic, Constipation, Reflux and Teething Pain.
The classes are beneficial for parents as well as babies, and really help you to get to know your baby, and understand their cues and behavioural states. The sessions are very relaxed, and are led by your baby. There is plenty of time for discussion, we talk about the most common obstacles in the early weeks, such as feeding, sleep, developing routines and wellbeing.
Massage is suitable from birth, and you can easily fit it in to your day when your course with me is finished. You will be provided with a bottle of IAIM approved oil, and a selection of handouts, which you can use to refresh your memory!
I welcome and encourage Dads to join us in the sessions, as it really helps them to form an attachment with their new baby, especially if the baby is being breastfed. I aim to give them confidence in handling their new born, as well as techniques they can use in those difficult moments!
All sessions include IAIM approved oil and handouts. You will enjoy a 5 week block of massage - £55 per person
Additional Session - £15
Group Sessions - Minimum 8 people - £55 per person for a five week block. Home sessions available with discount for the parent hosting the class.
I can offer additional support sessions to help manage the 'Troublesome Toddlers' in your lives!
I have had a lot of experience, with families to overcome unwanted behaviour, such as hitting biting temper tantrums and sibling rivalry.
I passionately believe that the best way to overcome bad or unwanted behaviour is to use positive reinforcement, and to get the whole family involved. I have got many tips and techniques to share, many of which I have put into practice in my own home, with my own children.
As part of my Behaviour Support Package I offer a consultation, ideally at home, or over the phone or Skype. We will discuss what is going on, what you are struggling with, and how you would like to move forward. I will then devise a personalised plan for you and your family, using the techniques you have chosen and make sure that you are confident with the plan, and ultimately feel as though can put it into practice, and be consistent, as consistency is the key!
I will support you during the time you are implementing the techniques (at least 4 weeks), to check that you are moving in the right direction, and for as long as you need afterwards (additional sessions are available at an extra cost).
I can also help to support parents with children who are struggling to overcome potty training or fussy eating. Again, we would have a consultation, in your home or over the phone and discuss different ways to move forward, and make a tailor-made plan for you and your child, for you to implement, with my support.
Behaviour Support package £100 – You will have a consultation in your own home, over the phone. I will create a behaviour management plan for you to implement, and then you will be entitled to 4 weeks of additional support.
Sleep can present numerous challenges to parents and families in the first few years of welcoming a baby. Having a good amount of sleep is such an important part of being able to function and manage day to day life, and being a parent makes this even more necessary!
After researching the emotional effect on children who have been 'Sleep Trained’, I don't offer my full ‘Sleep Support’ package to families who have a baby under 6 months. Before this age, the techniques are not suitable, and can be very distressing for both you and your baby. All of the techniques I advocate are gentle, and are appropriate for all children over six months of age, before that time, we need to respond to baby's needs and cues, and, if we don't, they can become very unsettled, as they need to feel safe and secure. This can also increase the risk of Sleep Regression.
I offer alternative consultations for babies up to six months, where I will support you with how to implement routines during the day, and also offer tips on how you can help your baby to learn to self-settle.
Many of the people who come to me for help have tried various methods and found them to be unsuccessful, for many reasons. The most common reason was that the parents didn't feel supported, or able to be consistent.
Consistency is the key with any kind ‘training’ whether is sleep or behavior related, so I pride myself on the support I offer to my clients.
During a ‘Sleep Support Package’ we will have a consultation, ideally in your home, or over the phone or Skype. We will discuss the problem and what you would like to change. I will then talk you through the different techniques you can use, and you can tell me which one will work best for you and your family. I will provide you with a personalised ‘Sleep Plan’ for you to implement. You will have my support for as long as you need it, at least 4 weeks. We will make time to review the plan and make changes if necessary.
Sleep consultation Package - You will receive a personalised sleep plan, plus four weeks of additional support via phone/Skype/email. - £150
1:1 ‘Bedtime’ Support - £25 per hour, minimum charge of £50 per visit.

Potty Training and Fussy Eaters
I have had a lot of experience with Fussy Eaters and Potty Training, both in the Nursery where I worked, and also with my own children!
I can offer you a consultation to support with these problems. Ideally I would come to you at home, but we can also talk over the phone or on Skype if you would prefer. I know that these problems can be very stressful for parents, and I believe that positive reinforcement is often the best way to manage them. I use a lot of reward systems in these situations and I have lots of different ones to share with you!
I am always aware that there may be may be additional factors, which could be effecting what your child. I have completed advanced training on Constipation and Enuresis, as sometimes this can be a factor with children who are resistant to use the toilet or potty.
I have spent a lot of time with Speech and Language therapists, and Tongue Tie Consultants, and this has helped me to manage eating difficulties.

Leo was fascinated by the sensory elements at the end of the session, loved it!
From birth, my son Alfie had always struggled to settle himself and would only go to sleep being cuddled or rocked, in my arms or in the pram. After 10 months of ongoing sleep deprivation, courtesy of my gorgeous baby boy Alfie, I had almost reached breaking point! I contacted Ruth. I arranged a telephone consultation and she made me feel instantly at ease. She was kind, friendly and supportive. I completed a sleep diary, explained to Ruth what I hoped to achieve with Alfie and she talked me through various techniques to try to help improve the situation.
Having discussed some options with Ruth, I decided the best technique for Alfie was the controlled comforting technique, which initially seemed to be working fairly well but sadly he would not actually fall asleep without me picking him up for a cuddle or rubbing his back or tummy. I quickly realised that he wanted me to be near him and simply to feel reassured for him to fall asleep. With continued support and discussions with Ruth, I decided to try a different approach and implemented the gradual retreat technique.
The gradual retreat technique meant I could stay in the room with Alfie and because he would always get extremely upset when I left the room, I was hopeful that this technique might be successful. Initially I sat next to his cot and gently rubbed his back or tummy. He didn’t cry and would fall asleep by himself. I gradually stopped rubbing his back or tummy and he seemed to start settling himself. After a few days, I put him down and left the room. He cried for a short while, I went back in and reassured him, left the room again and eventually he would fall asleep by himself. I repeated this process every night and before long he was falling asleep completely by himself – it was amazing!
I now put Alfie down approx. 6.30pm, he goes straight to sleep without crying and without any help from me. He usually sleeps through until about 5am, sometimes 6am. When he wakes, he does have some milk and then goes back to sleep until approx. 7am.
With Ruth’s advice and support, the change in Alfie’s sleeping is truly amazing. I can’t thank Ruth enough for her help, professionalism and continued encouragement throughout the process. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ruth’s services.
Albert and I have just finished our 5-week course of baby massage with Ruth. He was 3 weeks when we started, so as things like reflux and trapped wind arose Ruth was brilliant with offering advice and massages to help him and me. Now we have completed the course and have techniques to help teething and I can now do a full body massage with the use of helpful notes provided. The sessions are very relaxed and led by your baby. Ruth is very welcoming and thoughtful providing name tags, water and a smile when you arrive, even if you are running late! It has been great meeting new parents and talking in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, knowing that no questions/ queries are stupid. I would recommend this course to any new parent and am so glad I chose to do it again with my second child.
My little boy Arthur (16wks) and I have just finished Ruth's wonderful baby massage course. I'd highly recommend it to anyone with a new baby. Not only is the massage a lovely, relaxing experience for the babies but through the use of different strokes you learn techniques for dealing with things such as teething, colic, constipation - invaluable skills for the first few months. I loved the fact the class was so relaxed and you were entirely led by your baby - so if they needed feeding you could sit and feed and still observe Ruth performing the massage strokes. Likewise, if they were a bit restless and needed a little wander around. This made the class really enjoyable. Thank you, Ruth! Xx
My fiancé and I have just finished a 5-week massage course with our baby girl who is now 5 months. It is an invaluable & enjoyable course. It was really nice that my other half could come along as the course ran on a Saturday morning (reluctantly at first!) but he absolutely loved it too, and we took it in turns to massage, the course is very relaxed and if your baby needs feeding, changing or cuddle that's ok, you can still watch & learn the movements & you get a pack to keep. We all loved the course. Thank you Ruth
Ruth guided me through sleep training for my 8-month-old. After co-sleeping and waking 3-4 times a night for feeds, my daughter now sleeps through from 6pm till 6am with no wake ups in her own room. This has all been down to the advice and encouragement given to me by Ruth. A massive thank you to Ruth for giving me my bed back and some much-needed sleep x
We have loved baby massage! Ruth always makes us feel very welcome in group and it's been so nice to meet new babies and mummies. The massages that we have been learning have helped with Colic, constipation and most definitely bonding. Annabelle is so relaxed at the end of our sessions I have to wake her up for feeds!!!
Brilliant class, my baby daughter loved it. Felt very at ease in the class and would definitely recommend attending this class. Also, perfect for us as on Saturdays which many classes are in the week so dad could be involved
Thoroughly enjoying baby massage with Ruth. Friendly relaxed and supportive environment. Lots of great tips and Ruth is just lovely! Definitely recommend.
My son Jack and I have just finished our 5-week course of baby massage with Ruth. He was 6 weeks old when we started and suffering quite a bit with trapped wind. Ruth was brilliant with offering advice and massages to help him which not only really worked, but that Jack began to thoroughly enjoy. Now we have completed the course Jack gets excited just at the sight of the oil bottle. Ruth made the sessions very relaxed and encouraged that they were led by your baby, feeding, c...hanging and cuddling as they needed. Ruth approached me about attending a baby massage group and I'm so glad she did as she was so welcoming and thoughtful. Her lovely persona shone through with the provision of name tags, water, course notes and a smiling face. We travelled a 38 mile round trip to attend this course and it was thoroughly worth it, not only to learn the massage techniques but also to be around new parents and talking about our experiences. I would whole heartedly recommend this course to other new parents. Thank you Ruth
We loved baby massage with Ruth! She is an excellent instructor - so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. My son loves his massages - he was so relaxed that he fell asleep in the class yesterday during his full body massage, and was super chilled and content all evening! He gets so excited and smiley when he knows it's massage time! Thanks Ruth!
My little girl absolutely loves Ruth's classes. She stays awake for her whole session and grins throughout! I've now started using massage twice a day as part of our routine which has really helped with my baby's constipation! I thoroughly recommend these classes! It's such a joy to watch your baby enjoy something so much! I've even taught my husband how to do it!
My son and I have absolutely loved Ruth's baby massage classes! Ruth is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and her classes are great fun and very relaxing for both the babies and mums! My 11-week-old son loves his daily pre-bath massage - he grins with excitement and anticipation as soon as I place him on his mat because he knows what's coming! Ruth's colic routine has also really helped with his reflux. I would highly recommend her classes!
I received some very helpful friendly sleep advice from the lovely Ruth regarding my toddler who currently wakes every night we are putting some things into place to try and improve his sleep pattern now we the advice about a few different methods was so helpful and very friendly
I did baby massage with Ruth and my son, it was fantastic, we felt very welcomed and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It helped with all sorts of problems with my son and myself. Going on nearly 3 years and we are still using the same techniques to help with some tummy troubles and restless legs. It is not just about massaging your baby it's about helping them with their distress and also good for your mind too, it definitely helped me through the first few months and having Ruth to help was amazing! Definitely recommend!
Ruth is absolutely fantastic. We had support with behavior for our very strong willed, non-sleeping 3-year-old. We now have a calm home and children that sleep!!!
We recently asked Ruth to come and support with breastfeeding for our newest addition. I really don’t know what I would have done without her help and support, especially in these early weeks. It has made our breastfeeding journey stress free, pain free and enjoyable.
