Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is a wonderful thing to do, but it can be such a skill to learn, for both you and your baby!

Breastfeeding has been proven to be the best way to feed your baby, with benefits for you and your baby, but this is only the case if you are supported and given encouragement, so that you can enjoy your breastfeeding journey.

I offer preparation for birth sessions, where I can help to prepare you, and your partner for breastfeeding, by giving you practical tips, and also explain how breastfeeding happens by giving you some understanding of the physiology involved. I can give you some advice about how to position your baby, what correct attachment looks like, to give you confidence before the first feed, and also show you how to express milk.

We also talk about your expectations of feeding your new baby, so you know what to expect before you even start!

I offer breastfeeding support sessions in the first year after your baby is born, where we can talk about what you are struggling with. I like to come to see you at home, where you are most comfortable. I can observe a feed and suggest ways you can improve the latch and position, to make breastfeeding a more enjoyable experience for you.

I have experience in Tongue Tie, Thrush, Mastitis and blocked Milk Ducts, as well as advanced training, so I can help you to decide if you need to see a GP or a specialist for help.
